Kevin Durant scored a career-best 51 points for the top performance on February 19, 2012
in the NBA 2011-2012 season, Russell Westbrook added 40 and Serge Ibaka had
his first career triple-double as the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the
Denver Nuggets 124-118 in overtime Sunday night.
Durant hit a 3-pointer and drove for a dunk to tie the game with 4.4
seconds left in regulation, then used the extra period to chalk up the
first 50-point game of the two-time scoring champion's career.
The Nuggets played without Nene (calf injury), Danilo Gallinari (ankle) and Rudy Fernandez (back), and yet in the fourth quarter found themselves ahead by nine points. They had a five-point lead with 43 seconds to go.
And then: Durant 3-pointer (30 seconds left), Durant dunk (4.4 seconds). Game tied at 111. Overtime. Durant and Westbrook scored all 13 of the Thunder's points in the extra session and the Nuggets could not match
